After the disappointing outcome of our last three attempts, we decided to take a much needed break for a few months. We traveled, relaxed, and had a wonderful summer. We are refreshed and ready to go!
We've spent the past few months consulting with our doctors at REACH, finalizing our IVF protocol, and getting a head start on the cycle with lots of vitamins and preliminary medications.
We have now officially started our cycle and are busier than ever. The 'stimulation phase' of the cycle began on Friday which means 6+ shots a day and even more pills. In addition to this, we also decided add hyperbaric oxygen therapy in hopes of increasing our success. This is a relatively new concept in relation to IVF but studies have shown improved success rates following treatment. While the treatment, is relatively easy, it is 90 minutes a day for 10 days. Squeezing in these appointments, in addition to those at REACH, has been challenging, but thankfully Steve and Alex haven't minded the extra bonding time ;)
While this is now a familiar journey, thoughts and prayers are certainly appreciated!
