Embryo Transfer!

We arrived at REACH bright and early this morning and were greeted by our favorite nurses and anesthesiologist.

The most traumatic part of the procedure is always the IV and today it went in without a hitch. It's nice to have the same anesthesiologist each time because now she knows what works and what doesn't.

Once I received a few bags of fluid, I went into the OR and the transfer went perfectly. After an hour in recovery, I was released and have been resting all day. I slept most of the day while the anesthesia wore off and spent a little time cuddling with Alex before bed.

Hopefully the next few days will go by quickly and our little embryo will stay put. Please keep us in your prayers, especially over the next 10 days while we await the results.

Off to sleep!

Tomorrow is the big day!

We've had a busy few weeks of shots, medicine, and appointments and we're all geared up for the transfer.

Caroline and Patrick are here and she has done a great job with my shots while Steve was out of town. She'll be watching the boys tomorrow while we're at REACH so it's great to have her here.

The transfer is scheduled for 9am tomorrow so please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

Goodnight all!

Frozen Embryo Transfer Take II

It has been quite a while since our last post but there hasn't been much to report until recently. After the last round was unsuccessful, we patiently awaited the results of the genetic testing to determine if there was a reason for what happened.

When we met with the doctor to discuss the results, we were told that of the two embryos that were transferred, one tested postive for Downs. As we had been told before, when a pregnancy does not take, there is usually a reason. While we were surprised at the results, we were at least relieved to know there was a reason I did not get pregnant.

The good news is that the remaining two embryos are healthy and we were given the go ahead to could move forward with another frozen transfer. We officially began our cycle on 2/13 and are on track for the transfer at the end of the month.

Wish us luck!!
